In Patna, two headmasters and a middleman were arrested for their involvement in recruiting fake teachers in Samastipur. The arrests were made after a four-member committee investigation led by Samastipur DM Yogendra Singh. The arrested individuals are Dilip Ram from Purushottampur Primary School, Avinash Kumar Tandon from Navtolia Primary School, and middleman Parvez Alam. They were arrested in the Town police station area. A significant fraud was uncovered at Navtolia Primary School, according to a police source. As a result of this discovery, numerous teachers are being investigated and 12 are reportedly evading authorities. The police revealed that the fake recruitment involved replacing candidates who had legitimately been selected through BPSC with fraudulent appointments. The DM stated that complaints were received regarding these fake appointments during the BPSC TRE-2.0. Following the release of successful candidates' list from the BPSC exam and verification of their documents, their biometric thumbprints were taken. However, education department personnel deceitfully appointed fake teachers using the roll numbers and candidate IDs of selected BPSC candidates who failed to report for duty. The DM formed a four-member committee on September 7 to probe this matter, which led to the arrests of the headmasters and middleman. Ranjana Kumari at Purushottam Primary School was identified as a fake teacher, and investigations into the appointments of teachers Nikhat Parveen and Tanuja Kumari at the same school are ongoing. The fraudulent appointments were first discovered at this school, as reported by an official from the Town police station.
